MakeAnID

MakeAnID helps you make a photo for a passport, visa, ID card, driving licence, residence or work permit, student card or baby passport. It lists the official photo size and requirements for 1,644 documents in 209 countries and territories, checked against more than 2,250 official sources.

Upload a portrait or take one with your camera. Face detection fits your face to the guide, and you can drag, zoom and adjust brightness and contrast. The background can be replaced with white, off-white, light grey, cream or light blue. Automatic checks cover head size, eye height, framing, centring, tilt, sharpness, expression, background and lighting. Download a single JPG sized for the document, or a 300 DPI print sheet with cut marks on 4x6 in, 5x7 in, A4 or US Letter to print at a photo kiosk.

Everything runs in your browser, the photo is not uploaded. Free, no sign-up, 11 languages. MakeAnID is a helper tool; always check your document's official requirements.
