TheCarCodex

TheCarCodex lists 165 makes, 2,094 models, 3,227 generations and about 159,000 versions with the official engine, power, fuel consumption and CO2 figures published by the European Union (EEA), the United Kingdom, France, the United States (EPA) and Canada, with photos of most generations. Search by make and model, or add a generation, year, engine size, power, fuel or gearbox.

The VIN decoder reads any 17-character VIN in your browser and shows the country, manufacturer, model year, check digit and plant, plus the model, trim, body, engine and gearbox for North American vehicles. The OBD-II section explains all 9,105 generic fault codes, with what each means, its most likely causes, symptoms and how urgent it is. A fuel cost calculator compares up to three cars, and a compare tool puts two cars side by side.
